Shipping Labels: A Way To Convey Information
Labeling is the part of business and when it comes to shipping the term does have its own connotation. Labels give a mark of identity to the goods. Shipping labels also perform a function same as this.
Shipping labels prevent the shipping goods from damage as they act as a mark of safety and caution. Shipping tags and shipping labels are designed while keeping in mind the type of goods sent for shipment. If they goods are perishable food items, they are bound to carry a precaution mark where as if they are fragile, they will surely carry a tag of handle with care.
Shipping labels are attached to the package to convey the specific handling instructions for the labor and the shipment fleet member. These labels time savers as well as cost effective. Since these are to be pasted on the packaging cover, they should have a size which makes them visible and attractive. They can be in writing, symbol or graphics.
1. Arrow labels: - arrow labels are attached to the package to communicate which way is the package should be handled. The arrow signing upwards denotes that which is the upright position. They are basically used for skids and pipe markings. 2. Radiation labels: - these labels are a mark of the warnings about the product been destroyed if exposed to radiation. These signs are mainly in the form of writing rather than symbols. Additionally they are supposed to include the range as per the legal standards. The radiation symbols can be designed in the form of taps, which are available with perforation. 3. Labels as caution: not only they warn about the handling of the material but also lay down the level of danger the goods have. Hazardous material labels are actually used incase of goods which are inflammable and reactant. They are most commonly used in the crude oil shipping and chemical shipping. Containers will continue to contain these labels even after the shipment has reached its destination, so they are not an indication for the shipment journey but for warehousing purpose as well. 4. There are invoice labels as well. These labels state the packing list for the reference of the receiving fleet at the destination point. They can be in the form of list in case the products are large and bulky whereas if they are of small in size, they can be squeezed in the form of an envelop. These labels are fixed on the each face of the packet. 5. "Thank you" labels are the one which convey the message that the goods have reached safely right at the correct destination. They are in the form of short stickers in attractive colors. They act as letter of confirmation. Hence, shipping labels are important not only for the time of shipping but it is beneficial for us who have to remember which supply contains our goods.
